This week the Board has contracted a company to clean 900 Feet of wall between SH and SK. This is the back wall. This should be done maybe on Tuesday. The Board is also looking at the land erosion kin SK. . We are having a company finish a correction of the drains that were poorly installed years ago. He will fix one and after that we will decide if that is the fix for the other drains.
We are also having the fence painted at the entrance of SK.
There is a lot of news from last the SHHA Board meeting that was held last Wednesday. I was very happy to be voted in as President of the SHHA Board of Directors. Bill Leggett was voted in as Vice President. The current Board's pledge is to make improvements to the look of both Sabal Key and Sabal Harbour. We are also bringing in a new Property Manager company in July. We are currently interviewing several companies that we are interested in.
I met with our Landscape ...committee headed by Board Member Terri Marcus on Saturday. We walked along both entrances with the contractor who will be charged with taking out many old plantings and putting in new fresh products. The first thing that has to happen is that we get the irrigation systems in both SH and SK working properly. Some residents especially in Sabal Key are seeing sprinklers come on that have not been working for a long time. Planting should start in SK and SH shortly after all zones are working in each area. We are finding that the irrigation system in Sabal Key is showing its age. We now have two companies working on watering problems in SK. We will be thinning 17 Oak and Maple trees that are located at the back of the common area from the open field past the tennis courts. Residents on Runabout backing into the common area will see more sunshine coming into their backyards. I expect this to be done in June.
Bill Leggett and I are very concerned about the erosion of the lakes especially the lake in Sabal Key behind Misty Canal. We will be forming a committee to see what can be done. Any resident who is interested in being on that committee should contact me (email@example.com).
Please note that 500 feet of the front wall as well as the dead end wall off Runabout have been painted. The irrigation pump that was out for too long in SH is working properly. The best thing is that we have also had 4 inches of rain this week.
We expect that the two front lawns at the entrance of Sabal Harbour are coming back. These are highway Bermuda lawns and can come back from a drought like we had this winter. If we find that they do not come back the Board will make changes.
The Landscaping committee is working with G & S to make sure that proper fertilization and watering will take place both here and throughout SK SH. The web site will either be fixed or changed.
